Our history

Inspired by the playgrounds, where, as a teacher Françoise Pendville (Belgian stylist) found herself in all weathers, the idea came to her to make raincoats to protect herself from the bad weather so common in Belgium. Between the KW and the Burberrys trench, there was a place to take in the 90s.

A raincoat to go mushroom picking or to the opera on a stormy evening, such was her line of conduct. A "technico-friendly" collection for women, men and children was created.

At the request of professional and private buyers, Françoise Pendville then moved from a more designer conception of clothing to a more stylistic collection while keeping a distance from the dictates of fashion.

After 12 years of great achievements, it is then time for Françoise Pendville to adapt her know-how to the realities of a changing world. Timeless pieces, a quality designer line, opening up the market for multi-brand stores, moving towards "concept stores", slowing down the pace while offering products that move with the times.

In 2012, she launched a new, more timeless and nomadic line: Cumulus “The Urban Traveler Concept”.

Travel light in style, anywhere, in any weather. A collection that displays elegance and colors to cross the changing sky.

After obtaining a bachelor's degree in marketing, Aurélie Aertgeerts began a bachelor's degree in fashion styling in 2017. As part of her training, she completed a first internship with Françoise Pendville, which will turn into 4 years of apprenticeship at her sides.

In 2020, Françoise offers him to continue the Cumulus adventure by taking over the brand, and after a few years of preparation, the sale becomes official in January 2022.

Partners on the same wavelength, Françoise continues to support and advise Aurélie in this transition.
